About The Position

Alternative Capital Markets is seeking an associate to join the “ACM Investor Relations” team, focusing on client and advisor engagement, go-to-market strategy, and commercial awareness. This role is within the Wealth Management division of Goldman Sachs, which aims to empower clients globally to reach their financial goals through various financial planning, investment management, and banking services. The Alternative Capital Markets (ACM) team is a global group of over 80 professionals across eight offices, managing over $120B+ in assets under supervision. ACM is responsible for the Wealth Alternatives platform, which includes private equity, growth/venture capital, private credit, private real estate, hedge funds, co-investments, and impact private investing. The team's offerings encompass a full-service capital markets business covering the entire lifecycle of alternative investments, a new discretionary offering for programmatic platform access, an in-house liquidity platform (QMS), and dedicated platform management and strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or Higher
  • Good understanding of financial markets and investment instruments
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team player, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent client service skills, with the ability to translate client and team needs into meaningful deliverables
  • Strong ability to multi-task, with an ability to manage multiple projects with different deadlines
  • Self-starter, with ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment and across group functions
  • Solid work ethic, motivation level, and strong attention to detail
  • SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 (must be obtained within 3 months)

Responsibilities

  • Drive change to the Wealth experience by enhancing and streamlining alternative investment communications and resources for GS Wealth clients and advisors.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Executive Office, Corporate Communications, PWM Marketing, TPW Marketing) and external partners (General Partners) to develop commercial strategies, educational content, market perspectives, and platform updates.
  • Stay ahead of relevant market trends to build out “Markets Perspectives” to ensure clients are comfortable with events that may impact investments.
  • Key initiatives include media engagement, industry conferences, leadership nominations, content creation (e.g., thematic one-pagers), client commentary, and proactive communication of fund activity with an end goal of ensuring clients, advisors, and prospects have access to up-to-date information, market insights, and leadership views on the alternatives landscape.
  • Collaborate with the TPW Alternatives Marketing team to develop and deliver educational content, build brand awareness, and drive integration for "Retail Alternatives" within the Third Party Wealth channel.
