About The Position

Bernstein Shur is seeking a mid-level associate with 3-5+ years of experience to join its Business Law Practice Group. This role focuses on capital markets transactions, including securitization, structured finance, and secured transactions. The business law team represents a diverse range of market participants—including issuers, borrowers, banks, and other market participants—in supporting innovative asset finance and securitization transactions. This position is open to remote work in the United States. The successful applicant must possess corporate and/or finance transactions experience, with a background in structured finance and securitization being preferred.

Requirements

  • JD degree
  • Admission in NY, ME and/or NH
  • Minimum 4+ years of corporate finance transactions experience: securitization, structured finance, secured transactions.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills, with the ability to work on complex financing structures.
  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence in an efficient and responsive manner.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and quality work product.
  • Successfully meet deadlines, expectations, and perform work duties as required.
  • Foster positive work relationships.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in both physical and sedentary activity, such as (a) working at a computer for extended periods of time, including on-screen reading and typing; (b) participating in digital/virtual conference calls; (c) participating in meetings as needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform all other duties, tasks or projects as assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct and applicable law firm experience preferred.
  • Background in structured finance and securitization is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on a broad range of asset finance and securitization transactions.
  • Structure, draft, and negotiate transaction documents, including securitization agreements and other financing instruments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including bankruptcy, tax, corporate, and regulatory attorneys, to support complex financings.
  • Manage sophisticated client relationships
