About The Position

The Capital Solutions Group at Goldman Sachs operates at the intersection of public and private markets, offering a comprehensive suite of financing, origination, structuring, and risk management solutions. This group leverages deep relationships and extensive deal flow to provide clients with unique insights and tailored solutions. The Investment Banking division tackles complex financial challenges and transactions, advising on mergers, providing acquisition financing, and structuring initial public offerings for a diverse client base. The Leveraged Finance group within this division originates, structures, advises on, and executes bank loan and high yield bond financings for corporate clients and financial sponsors, including LBOs, refinancings, M&A transactions, and restructurings. They act as intermediaries between the debt capital markets and issuing clients, collaborating closely with various firm departments such as Classic Investment Banking, Credit, Capital Markets, and Research.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree and 2 years of investment banking experience; OR Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of investment banking, leveraged finance, or equivalent experience
• Strong track record of executing Leveraged Finance transactions in an investment banking role
• 2 years’ experience on deal teams
• History of outstanding academic and professional achievement
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong quantitative and technical abilities
• Personal integrity, initiative and leadership qualities
• Capacity to interact and build relationships with a wide range of people and act as a point of contact
• Drive, enthusiasm, creativity and excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong oral and written communications skills
• Ability to work as part of a team in an environment that demands excellence, time and energy

Responsibilities

• Originate, structure, advise, and execute bank loan and high yield bond financings for corporate clients and financial sponsors.
• Execute Leveraged Finance transactions in an investment banking role.
• Work on deal teams to execute transactions.
• Interact and build relationships with a wide range of people.
• Act as a point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
