About The Position

An Associate position is available at Garney. The Associate supports Garney’s Corporate Development initiatives across the full lifecycle of infrastructure investments and strategic projects. This role is responsible for financial modeling, investment analysis, and transaction execution support related to public‑private partnerships (P3s), private development projects, corporate strategy initiatives, and acquisitions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field – Required
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or management consulting – Required (Associate)
  • Experience with financial modeling or investment analysis – Required
  • Strong financial analysis and analytical thinking skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Microsoft PowerPoint proficiency
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and business information
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and support the execution of corporate M&A transactions, including acquisitions, minority investments, and strategic partnerships
  • Build and maintain transaction‑level financial models, including valuation, accretion/dilution, synergies, and scenario analysis
  • Conduct and coordinate financial, commercial, and functional due diligence across internal teams and external advisors
  • Prepare investment committee materials, transaction memoranda, and executive presentations supporting decision‑making
  • Evaluate private investment opportunities across growth, infrastructure‑adjacent, and strategic platforms
  • Perform underwriting and return analysis, including cash flow modeling, valuation, downside scenarios, and exit sensitivities
  • Monitor active investments and prepare quarterly portfolio reporting on performance, risks, and value‑creation initiatives
  • Support development, evaluation, and financing of infrastructure and project‑based investments, including P3 and privately financed projects
  • Build and maintain project finance models incorporating construction, operations, capital structure, and risk scenarios
