About The Position

This role involves operating woodworking machinery to manufacture items according to drawings. The position requires a focus on quality control, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment. Some overtime may be necessary.

Requirements

• High School Education or GED
• Ability to lift 30-50 lbs frequently and 70-100 lbs occasionally
• Ability to lift 75 – 100 lbs occasionally
• Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
• Basic math and writing aptitude
• Knowledge of a variety of woodworking equipment
• Blueprint/drawing comprehension
• Team player with a positive attitude

Nice To Haves

• 1 year in a woodworking or manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate wood sawing machines
• Operate drill presses, routers, sanders, planers and wood-nailing machines
• Work from drawings to determine size and shape of items manufactured
• Choose the best material and lengths for a given task
• Participate in the department quality control program
• Show consistent initiative in crafting a quality product
• Follow safety rules and procedures
• Report unsafe acts, all accidents and near misses
• Operate equipment accurately and only if trained and authorized to do so
• Follow good housekeeping practices
• Provide regular, consistent and timely attendance
