About The Position

Good Inside is seeking an Associate Video Editor to create engaging videos from raw footage across its podcast portfolio and other platforms, including YouTube, podcasts, social media, app content, and partner work. The editor will work on the growing in-house studio team, collaborating with production and content colleagues to take podcast shoots from rough cut through final delivery and adapt content for each publishing platform. The role offers the opportunity to develop story instincts alongside experienced editors and learn how performance data informs editing decisions.

This hybrid role requires working three days per week in Good Inside’s Midtown Manhattan office. The editor will work closely with the Manager, Studio and Production and the Executive Producer, Podcasts, and develop toward full ownership of finishing and craft.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of editing experience.
• A reel demonstrating range across long-form and short-form content.
• Proficiency in industry-standard video and audio editing software; Adobe Premiere is preferred.
• A developing sense of story, including what to keep or remove and where energy drops, and openness to feedback.
• Experience editing interview content.

Nice To Haves

• Experience editing for a creator, media brand, or digital-first channel.
• Knowledge of YouTube retention, including hooks, chapters, and viewer drop-off points.
• Thumbnail design experience.

Responsibilities

• Edit long-form and short-form video from rough cut to final, with the goal of keeping viewers watching to the end.
• Work with the Manager, Studio and Production and Executive Producer, Podcasts, taking direction on story, pacing, and structure while developing editorial judgment.
• Handle audio mixing, color correction, captioning, and motion graphics, building toward full ownership of finishing and craft.
• Create platform-specific versions for YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok from a single shoot.
• Turn around notes quickly and cleanly.
• Participate in performance reviews and learn how data informs future edits.
• Ingest, sync, and manage dailies to keep footage organized and accessible.
