About The Position

HUB International is a leading North American insurance brokerage that advises businesses and individuals on how to reach their goals. The Associate Vice President of Operations reports to the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with the Vice President of Sales in the region. This role is responsible for leading retail branch operations across Northern, BC, ensuring regional operations meet or exceed HUB's financial, operational, and staffing goals while delivering an industry-leading client experience. The ideal candidate brings a passion for client service, a proven drive for sales results, and demonstrates success in coaching leaders and developing teams. Success in this role requires strong business and financial acumen, proactive community engagement, and a mindset of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams.
  • Experience managing operational teams, multi-branch or multi-site oversight.
  • 10 years of insurance experience with at least 4 years of leadership experience required.
  • Level 2 Insurance License or greater.
  • Demonstrated success in driving sales results as well as operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Familiarity with key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor and drive operational performance.
  • Understanding of financial management principles, including budgeting.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Proficiency in communication and conflict resolution.
  • Experience in developing and implementing customer-centric operational strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Meet financial P&L objectives: Develop budgets, manage compensation, and control operating expenses.
  • Drive sales results: Execute business plans for revenue growth, new business generation, cross-sell opportunities, and client retention.
  • Lead branch operations: Ensure team leaders and managers drive client service excellence and revenue results through effective recruitment and staffing, embedded training support and product knowledge development, and championing quality standards.
  • Develop talent: Mentor and coach leaders, build succession plans, and drive employee engagement and retention leveraging best practices in human resource management.
  • Maintain compliance: Ensure branch operations across the region adhere to regulatory requirements and audit standards.
