About The Position

High's is looking for a Vice President of Operations to lead our growing network of convenience stores across Maryland and Delaware. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our people, operations, and continued growth as a member of our executive leadership team. This executive leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, profitability, customer experience, and team development while supporting the company's continued growth.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive retail operations leadership experience.
  • 5+ years leading multi-unit operations in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience in convenience stores, fuel retail, grocery, restaurant, or other high-volume retail environments.
  • Strong financial acumen with proven P&L management experience.
  • Demonstrated success improving operational performance, sales, profitability, and employee engagement.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout Maryland and Delaware.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute operational strategies that drive revenue growth, profitability, market share, and long-term business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop District Managers and other field leadership team members, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and high performance.
  • Maintain ownership of retail operational P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and expense management.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), operational scorecards, and performance management systems to ensure achievement of company goals.
  • Partner with the executive leadership team to develop and implement strategic initiatives that support organizational growth and operational excellence.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities, process optimization, and operational efficiencies across the enterprise.
  • Oversee talent development strategies, succession planning, leadership development programs, and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Champion a customer-centric culture that delivers exceptional service, strong brand standards, and consistent execution across all locations.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, company policies, safety standards, food service regulations, and fuel operations guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Merchandising, Facilities, and Supply Chain teams to align operational execution with corporate objectives.
  • Lead the operational integration and execution of new store openings, acquisitions, remodels, and other growth initiatives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, systems, and best practices to enhance operational performance and scalability.
  • Present operational performance, strategic recommendations, and business insights to executive leadership and ownership.
  • Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, contributing to company strategy, organizational planning, and long-term business growth.
