About The Position

IndeVets is seeking a Full-Time Associate Veterinarian in Houston, TX. This role offers a unique approach to veterinary medicine, prioritizing work-life balance and veterinarian well-being. The position involves working 4-5 days per week with a dedicated scheduling coordinator to build a predictable schedule in advance. Veterinarians will practice across a network of trusted hospital partners, gaining diverse clinical experience, with opportunities to include surgery, dentistry, ER, or urgent care shifts. The role emphasizes practicing medicine with clinical autonomy, focusing on patient care rather than numbers, and provides robust support including medical leadership, mentorship, a collaborative community, and access to a veterinary social worker. Ongoing CE and professional development are also provided. This model is designed to prevent burnout and foster career growth.

Requirements

• DVM or VMD from an AVMA-accredited program (or equivalent).
• Active license (or ability to obtain).
• DEA + controlled substance license (as applicable).
• 1+ year of clinical experience in a small animal setting.
• Confidence practicing independently.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.

Nice To Haves

• GP, ER, or urgent care experience.
• Internship training.
