About The Position

Gateway Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian for its general practice/small animal clinics, which also provide some large-animal care. The hospital has two locations in Charleston and Saint Albans, West Virginia, and a two-DVM clinic with dedicated support staff. Services include wellness and prevention, advanced diagnostics, dental care, surgery, laser therapy, boarding, and ultrasound.

The role is suited to an empathetic, compassionate team player with strong communication skills and proficiency in general medicine and surgery. Experience is preferred, and new graduates seeking mentorship are encouraged to apply. The hospital offers medical autonomy and access to a DVM mentor network. The schedule includes rotating Saturdays; the clinics are closed Sundays.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.
• Current DEA License or ability to obtain one upon hire.
• Active Veterinary State License.
• USDA Accreditation or ability to obtain it upon hire.
• Empathetic and compassionate approach.
• Team-player attitude and strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in general medicine and surgery.
