The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for completing all scheduled appointments, drop-off appointments, walk-ins, and surgeries in a timely and accurate manner. This includes treating and addressing wounds and performing dental surgeries, while monitoring anesthesia administration with the support of the Veterinary Technician (VT) team. The role involves educating clients verbally and in writing on pet care, including wound care, wellness protocols, illnesses, medication use, and post-surgery expectations. The veterinarian will also perform patient triage, educate clients on wellness, preventative care, diagnostics, treatments, medications, and surgeries, and demonstrate proficiency in diagnostic procedures like radiographs, ultrasound, clinical pathology, and physical exams. Client communication regarding diagnoses and treatment plans must be timely and adhere to CityVet policies. The position requires preparing and presenting treatment options and cost estimates to clients, ensuring accurate invoicing, and maintaining a current veterinarian license and DEA registration, including fulfilling continuing education requirements. Collaboration with the Partner/Lead Veterinarian and facility team is expected for resolving customer complaints. The Associate Veterinarian will support the VT Team and facility staff, maintain positive relationships, and ensure the security and safety of clients, animals, team members, and facility equipment. High standards of personal and professional appearance, cleanliness, and sanitation are required, along with maintaining quality control of operations, client care, client service, and client records. All tasks assigned by the supervisor must be completed.
