About The Position

Countryside Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Associate Veterinarian for their Small Animal | General Practice in Shelton, Connecticut. They are a trusted veterinary resource for the Shelton, Monroe, and surrounding Fairfield County communities, providing compassionate, advanced care in a welcoming, respectful environment. The hospital is AAHA-accredited and focuses on high-quality medicine, client education, and helping dogs and cats live free from pain, suffering, and disease. The practice is a full-service small animal hospital specializing in dogs and cats, offering wellness, urgent care, surgery, diagnostics, pharmacy, and client education. Their medical platform includes soft tissue, reconstructive, obstetrical, and general surgery; ECG; oncology support; weekly diagnostic ultrasound; digital radiographs; an on-site laboratory; microchipping; and nutritional counseling. The team is experienced, with veterinarians, licensed/certified technicians, veterinary technicians, assistants, client service, and practice management support. The culture is grounded in respect and courtesy for all, with a clean, safe, and comforting environment.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Connecticut.
  • Experience in small animal general practice.
  • Proficiency in soft tissue, reconstructive, obstetrical, and general surgery.
  • Experience with ECG, diagnostic ultrasound, and digital radiographs.
  • Ability to work in a clean, safe, and comforting environment.
  • Commitment to respect and courtesy for all patients, clients, doctors, and team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with oncology support.
  • Experience with microchipping and nutritional counseling.
