About The Position

IndeVets has reimagined associate veterinarian roles by replacing rigid contracts with sustainable career paths, offering control over schedules and guaranteed income, backed by hands-on support and a trusted community. This part-time W-2 position allows veterinarians to work 1-3 days per week with a guaranteed salary and a schedule they control. A dedicated scheduling coordinator builds the schedule in advance, providing predictability for life outside of work. IndeVets handles scheduling, logistics, and coordination, allowing veterinarians to focus on practicing medicine. There's an option to earn more by picking up additional shifts, which can be paid out or converted into additional PTO. Veterinarians will practice across a variety of trusted hospital settings, gaining diverse clinical experience while maintaining the consistency, support, and stability of a single employer. Opportunities to include surgery, dentistry, ER, or urgent care shifts are available when possible. The model emphasizes practicing medicine independently but with strong support systems, including medical leadership, mentorship, a collaborative community, and access to a veterinary social worker. Ongoing CE and professional development opportunities are provided to foster growth and prevent burnout. The career path offers leadership and mentorship opportunities, exposure to diverse clinical settings, flexibility to evolve schedules, and a model designed to prevent burnout.

Requirements

  • DVM or VMD from an AVMA-accredited program (or equivalent)
  • Active license (or ability to obtain)
  • DEA + controlled substance license (as applicable)
  • 1+ year of clinical experience in a small animal setting
  • Confidence practicing independently
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills

Nice To Haves

  • GP, ER, or urgent care experience
  • Internship training
