About The Position

Berry Animal Clinic, a CareVet partner, has a tremendous opportunity to join our thriving practice in Decatur, AL! This position offers a six-figure salary plus production, clinical support, work/life balance, and a competitive compensation package, including a $125,000 bonus! We are seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian with strong surgical skills to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to practice high-quality medicine and surgery while working closely with our skilled support staff. Your expertise and passion for patient care will contribute to the continued success of our clinic. We are a three-doctor hospital committed to high-quality, progressive, and individualized patient care, supported by advanced medical and diagnostic tools including digital X-ray, portable ultrasound, and fully equipped surgical and dental suites. Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
  • Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
  • Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
  • Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
  • Strong fondness and understanding of animals
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of animal behavior
  • Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals

Responsibilities

  • Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
  • Treat and dress wounds
  • Perform surgery on animals
  • Test for and vaccinate against diseases
  • Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
  • Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
  • Prescribe medication
  • Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
