About The Position

CareVet of Hebron is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their relationship-focused small animal practice. This role is designed to be flexible and adaptable to the veterinarian's experience and preferences, offering a customizable first-year compensation package up to $200K. The hospital currently has one Medical Director and offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership, shape the practice, and engage in a mix of wellness, sick visits, and surgery. The practice prioritizes quality medicine, a sustainable work environment, appropriate appointment pacing, collaborative case discussion, reliable technician support, predictable scheduling, and a respectful, collaborative environment. New graduates will receive structured mentorship, while experienced veterinarians will enjoy autonomy and the ability to influence medical approach. The role offers excellent work-life balance with no weekend hours and a predictable schedule.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
  • Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
  • Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
  • Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
  • Strong fondness and understanding of animals
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of animal behavior
  • Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals

Responsibilities

  • Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
  • Treat and dress wounds
  • Perform surgery on animals
  • Test for and vaccinate against diseases
  • Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
  • Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
  • Prescribe medication
  • Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
