Part-Time Associate Veterinarian - Saint Johnsbury, VT
About The Position
IndeVets offers a unique approach to veterinary medicine, prioritizing associate well-being by replacing rigid contracts with sustainable career paths. As a part-time W-2 veterinarian working 1-3 days per week, you will earn a guaranteed salary with a schedule you control, built in advance by a dedicated scheduling coordinator. This predictability allows you to plan your life outside of work with confidence. IndeVets handles scheduling, logistics, and coordination, enabling you to focus on practicing medicine. You will have a guaranteed salary as your foundation, with the option to earn more by picking up additional shifts, which can be paid out or converted into additional PTO. You will practice across a variety of trusted hospital settings, gaining diverse clinical experience while maintaining the consistency, support, and stability of a single employer. We aim to include shifts in surgery, dentistry, ER, or urgent care when possible, offering a structured and sustainable way to stay connected to the work you love without the need to search for shifts or rebuild your schedule weekly.
Requirements
- DVM or VMD from an AVMA-accredited program (or equivalent)
- Active license (or ability to obtain)
- DEA + controlled substance license (as applicable)
- 1+ year of clinical experience in a small animal setting
- Confidence practicing independently
- Strong communication and client relationship skills

Responsibilities
- Practice medicine independently with clinical autonomy focused on patient care, not numbers.
- Provide veterinary services across a variety of trusted hospital settings.
- Focus on patient care without production quotas, negative accrual, or restrictive non-competes.
- Collaborate with a community of fellow veterinarians and utilize dedicated medical leadership and mentorship.
- Leverage support from a veterinary social worker.
- Engage in ongoing CE and professional development opportunities.
