About The Position

Work and play in the Heart of the Adirondacks! Come join our team in the High Peaks region of the beautiful Adirondack Mountains! The area offers a multitude of outdoor activities in all seasons including hiking, biking, kayaking and canoeing, white-water rafting, cross-country and downhill skiing, snowmobiling and more! High Peaks Animal Hospital is located in Ray Brook, NY only 10 minutes from the resort communities of Lake Placid and Saranac Lake, where there are plenty of options for dining, shopping, night life, and opportunities to learn about the area’s Olympic history. VCA High Peaks is a full-service small animal practice offering a broad spectrum of preventive and medical appointments, dental and surgical care. We have digital X-ray, dental imaging, ultrasound, cold laser, and have recently begun offering acupuncture. We also work closely with a traveling board-certified orthopedic surgeon and the local wildlife rehabilitator. Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree
  • Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in New York
  • Ability to perform dental and surgical procedures
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment (digital X-ray, dental imaging, ultrasound, cold laser)
  • Willingness to learn and perform acupuncture
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Passion for an active lifestyle and outdoor activities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with acupuncture
  • Experience working with wildlife rehabilitators
  • Familiarity with the Adirondack region
