About The Position

Chewelah Veterinary Clinic is seeking an Associate Veterinarian (DVM) for their mixed animal practice, focusing on both small and large animal medicine. This role offers the opportunity to practice veterinary medicine in a charming small town in Washington, surrounded by natural beauty and outdoor recreational activities. The clinic emphasizes a collaborative, community-centered approach with a strong commitment to compassionate, practical, and high-quality patient care. The veterinarian will handle a variety of cases including preventive care, urgent care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, farm calls, and occasional exotic cases. The clinic boasts an experienced team, advanced diagnostics, and a supportive staff, allowing veterinarians to focus on patient care and medical decision-making.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) degree from an accredited veterinary program, or currently enrolled and expected to graduate from an accredited veterinary program.
  • Licensed or eligible for veterinary licensure in Washington State.
  • Commitment to practicing high-quality veterinary medicine.
  • Strong communication and client relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide small animal and large animal general practice veterinary care.
  • Handle occasional exotic animal cases.
  • Perform preventive care and wellness medicine.
  • Manage drop-off appointments.
  • Provide urgent care and emergency cases during regular business hours.
  • Perform emergency on-call services from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
  • Conduct soft tissue surgeries.
  • Perform dentistry procedures.
  • Conduct haul-in appointments.
  • Perform farm calls.
