Associate, Venue Infrastructure Delivery
About The Position
LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The organization is focused on creating an unparalleled experience for athletes, fans, partners, and the community. The 2028 Games will be the first Summer Games in the U.S. in 32 years and Los Angeles' third time hosting an Olympic Games, and first time welcoming the Paralympic Games. The VNI (Venues and Infrastructure) team is crucial in delivering functional, innovative, and accessible competition and non-competition venues. This role, reporting to the Sr Manager, Venue Infrastructure Delivery, will support the planning and coordination of venue design subfunctions within a group of venues, focusing on team support, timeline monitoring, and stakeholder collaboration. The ideal candidate will possess excellent project management skills and produce organized, efficient work.
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Sports Management, Construction Management, Event Management, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information effectively.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to co-creation and collaborative decision-making.
- Ability to travel to venues and work on-site as needed.
- Willingness to work extended hours during critical build milestones and Games-time preparations.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and event days.
- Ability to stand, walk, and work on-site for extended periods.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with sports and major event planning preferred.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar tools advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal functional areas (FAs) to support the development of venue design.
- Support the maintenance of project plans for venue design and infrastructure development to align with overall Games timelines.
- Support the integration of cross-functional requirements (e.g., ticketing, hospitality, security, sport) into venue design processes.
- Assist in preparing materials and coordinating venue-specific workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
- Track action items, deliverables, and follow-ups to support timely project execution.
- Work closely with key FAs, including Event Management, Operational Departments, and Sport, to ensure cohesive planning and delivery of venue infrastructure.
- Support problem-solving efforts related to venue planning and execution.
- Manage functional area requests and outputs across the Venue Development team.
- Support reporting processes, including preparation of presentations, updates, and documentation for leadership and stakeholders.
- General support to the Venue Development team.
Benefits
- Hourly range for this position is $30.29 - $40.00.
