About The Position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a proven technology manager with experience in people management, robust technical understanding, and the drive to advance AWS Data Center Operations. This role involves creating sustainable processes and standards, driving automation to reduce delivery cycle times and improve quality without impacting network availability. The mission of the team is to deliver network capacity on time with zero rework. The Infrastructure Delivery Manager will manage the implementation and delivery of inbound capacity and equipment, oversee team development and growth, manage budgets, provide strategic direction, and propose technical solutions. Responsibilities include installing and delivering network equipment and related infrastructures, and driving low voltage structured cabling across the Amazon data center platform.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of TCP/IP networking, network cabling, fiber, optic types, and test equipment experience
  • 2+ years of in a management or team lead function experience
  • 2+ years of data center engineering or operations experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field (e.g., Computer Science, Network Engineering), or experience in professional or military IT-related roles
  • certification in a relevant field (CCENT - Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician, Network+, or CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Associate)
  • Experience with installing physical data center equipment such as copper/fiber cabling and racks
  • Understanding of networking infrastructure topology
  • Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience
  • Work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and assign tasks to data center technicians and operators, project management, coaching and creating documentation.
  • Manage inbound capacity from receiving through deployment stages.
  • Manage the installation network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment.
  • Guide, train and educate staff on the best practices related to all service owner issues.
  • Manage tasks and deliverables across small to large-size projects.
  • Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and to meet required SLAs.
  • Provide weekly report to the data center manager.
  • Coordinate team resources to support project and delivery needs, to include emergency projects, change management and maintenance window support, and potential off-hours and on-call needs.
  • Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Host weekly staff meetings.
  • Drive compliance to Amazon performance management requirements.
