Associate Underwriter
About The Position
FCCI Insurance Group is seeking a motivated and well-organized Associate Underwriter to support the acquisition and retention of profitable commercial lines customers for its Gulf Coast Region. The position assists with underwriting new and renewal business and processes transactions within assigned authority. The position is hybrid in FCCI’s Gulf Coast Regional office in Ridgeland, Mississippi, for employees located in the Jackson, Mississippi area, with three days in the office and two days from home. Otherwise, it may be performed remotely from within the Gulf Coast territory: Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, or Tennessee.
Responsibilities
- Gather underwriting information for renewal and new business accounts and work with agencies to obtain missing information.
- Approve, modify, or decline transactions such as MVRs, audit changes, and endorsements within assigned authority.
- Review endorsement requests, obtain missing information, and approve requests and provide issuance instructions within designated authority.
- Refer endorsement requests outside designated authority to an underwriter.
- Handle renewal underwriting for less complex accounts based on authority levels and assigned premium thresholds.
- Prepare underwriting file documentation for accounts within authority and support the underwriter with documentation for accounts outside authority.
