About The Position

As an Associate Underwriter, you'll participate in the Underwriting Development Program, where you'll learn how businesses manage risk and how insurance helps organizations protect what matters most. You'll work alongside experienced underwriters to evaluate complex risks, develop insurance solutions, and make strategic business decisions that support both our customers and Liberty Mutual's continued success. Underwriting combines analytical thinking, business acumen, relationship management, and negotiation. You'll assess business operations, financial information, and industry trends to determine whether risks are appropriate for Liberty Mutual and help establish pricing and coverage solutions that meet customer needs. Liberty Mutual's Global Risk Solutions (GRS) business provides commercial and specialty insurance, surety, and reinsurance solutions for midsize, large, and global businesses. Across a broad range of industries, GRS helps organizations navigate complex and evolving risks while protecting their people, property, operations, and future growth.

Requirements

0-2 years of related professional experience.
Hold, or will be completing, a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management & Insurance, Economics, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
A strong academic record with a cumulative 3.0 GPA preferred.
Possess strong analytical, decision-making, and negotiating skills.
Solid interpersonal skills and demonstrate a passion for customer service.
Must be willing to complete professional designation(s) and continued insurance education.
Must have permanent work authorization in the United States.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license for regular travel to customer locations.
