About The Position

This position is for an Associate, Trading with J. Aron & Company LLC in Houston, Texas. The role involves making prices and executing trades in various asset classes like equities, bonds, commodities, and foreign exchange for the firm's clients. Key responsibilities include changing and executing orders, managing the risk of related books, and fostering relationships with sales, operations, engineering, and structuring teams to ensure a premier client experience. The role also requires collaborating with other Trading desks and Sales/Investment Banking coverage to identify potential transactions and clients across different industries and products. Additionally, the Associate will work with senior team members to proactively pitch and originate new transactions, build client relationships, conduct fundamental and quantitative research for trading ideas, develop term sheets and marketing materials, create financial models, perform scenario and credit analysis, and support transaction approval with control side personnel. A significant part of the role involves in-depth market analysis, researching supply and demand factors for natural gas and power markets, structuring and pricing transactions, and managing ongoing credit and/or funding risks post-execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in job offered or a related role.
  • Prior experience must include two (2) years with conducting quantitative analysis on complex trading products, including working with mathematical valuations and probability weighted outcomes and applying this analysis to provide liquidity and manage risk.
  • Prior experience must include two (2) years with executing complex trades and structured transactions in various financial and physical power and natural gas markets.
  • Prior experience must include two (2) years with presenting investment theses and risk analyses to senior leaders.
  • Prior experience must include two (2) years with liaising with clients, investors, and internal sub-groups to achieve commercial outcomes.
  • Prior experience must include two (2) years with applying financial accounting principles to build cash flow models and corporate valuations.
  • Prior experience must include two (2) years with performing regression data analytics on historical trading data.

Responsibilities
