About The Position

Sierra Health and Wellness uses evidence-based methods to accomplish the restoration of families, relationships, and self-worth. By transforming the character, we give life back to the people who have lost it through substance abuse and mental health issues. Our inpatient facility houses 16 clients who receive specialized and personal care from our staff. Spacious and newly remodeled facility, located on 4 private acres of land.

Requirements

  • Must possess a master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, or professional counseling
  • Must obtain an associate registration number with the Board of Behavioral Sciences
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Must obtain and maintain a registration number regulated by a state board (ASW, AMFT, APC)
  • Have at minimum one-year experience in Drug and Alcohol counseling.
  • Very familiar with HIPAA/client confidentiality and personal rights.
  • Must possess a current CPR and First Aid certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year experience in Drug and Alcohol counseling (preferred, not required)
  • Two to three years of experience in drug and alcohol counseling
  • BA or MA degree in related field.

Responsibilities

  • Performs journey-level professional casework and clinical services with mentally and emotionally disturbed clients
  • Assesses and monitors clients’ behaviors while in treatment for chemical and alcohol abuse and dependency.
  • Works as a team member with other professionals
  • Participates in evaluative and diagnostic staff conferences
  • Conducts individual, family, and group therapy; interviews clients and relatives
  • Participates in collaborative treatment with representatives of other agencies
  • Prepares verbal, written, and statistical reports
  • Attends conferences, workshops, and training to maintain current awareness of mental health methodologies and issues
  • Operates a personal computer and other office equipment
  • Communicates effectively with others in person and over the telephone
  • Analyze data, interpret directions, procedures and regulations, and develop appropriate responses
  • Perform job duties under stressful conditions
  • May be assigned some lead and special work coordination responsibilities
