Associate Teacher
About The Position
Bright Horizons is hiring a full-time Associate Teacher to work with preschoolers ages 3–4 at Bright Horizons at Coconut Creek. The teacher works in person at an early education/preschool child care center, supporting children’s supervision, care, and curriculum delivery in accordance with Bright Horizons policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. The role includes assisting with hands-on activities, communicating children’s daily milestones to parents, and maintaining a safe, clean classroom. Employees can learn from early education experts and may pursue a CDA or college degree at no cost through the Horizons CDA & Degree Program.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
- Pass required state and company background checks and meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements.
- Complete the Florida Care Provider Clearinghouse background screening.
- Complete the required DCF 45 hours, depending on in-state experience per DCF guidelines.
- Comply with applicable immunization, employment physical/screening, and health and safety training requirements.
- Meet the physical requirements of the role, including lifting and carrying children, participating in classroom activities, responding to emergencies, and maintaining mental and physical alertness.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool settings.
- A CDA, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in early education or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Assist with hands-on activities to meet the needs and interests of children.
- Maintain open communication with parents and share their child’s daily milestones.
- Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines.
- Provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services in accordance with Bright Horizons policies, procedures, and guidance, and applicable laws and regulations.
