About The Position

Bright Horizons is hiring an Associate Teacher to support infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in an early education and preschool child care center in the Fairfax, Virginia area. The role provides hands-on learning activities, care, supervision, and curriculum delivery in accordance with Bright Horizons’ policies and applicable laws and regulations. The position requires in-person work. Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Pass required state and company background checks.
• Meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements.
• Comply with applicable immunization, employment physical or screening, and health and safety training requirements.
• Be able to work in person in an early education/preschool child care center in the Fairfax, VA area.
• Frequently lift, carry, or hold children weighing 10 to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift, carry, or hold more than 40 pounds.
• Demonstrate the range of motion needed to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and participate in activities.
• Respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies.
• Maintain the mental and physical alertness and energy needed to perform essential job requirements.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool settings.
• A CDA, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in early education or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hands-on activities that meet children’s needs and interests.
• Maintain open communication with parents and share children’s daily milestones.
• Keep the classroom safe and clean by following required procedures and guidelines.
• Fulfill mandated reporter requirements, including reporting suspected child abuse or neglect to the appropriate State agency and informing the director.
• Provide classroom coverage in any age group where needed across a center or nearby locations.
