HTS has an exciting opportunity to invite an Associate Teacher on to our team. We are looking for Senior School qualified educators early in their career to support our academic and student life program of the school. Additionally, associate teachers will have the opportunity to be mentored by instructional leaders and grow your practice through exceptional professional learning. Associate teachers teach one or two courses throughout the academic year. We are looking for educators who are qualified to teach Math and Science across Grades 9-12. This position is available for a duration of up to one year. Additionally, Associate teachers will need to participate in 3 terms of Student Life, we are looking for an educator who has coaching experience. The successful candidates will oversee the academic progress and personal growth of each student in their assigned courses, and be fully involved in co-curricular activities. HTS prides itself on its small class size and abundance of resources in the classroom to create personalized and inspiring learning environments for all learners.

Requirements

  • Ontario Teacher Certification with Intermediate/Senior qualifications and a specialty in Math and Science
  • Deep knowledge of the Ontario curriculum and Growing Success Policies
  • Knowledge of Ontario’s - 21st century competencies
  • Experience or expertise in learner-centered instructional approaches: Project-based learning, Design thinking or Challenge-based learning
  • Experience integrating technology into the learning environment to enhance and augment the learning experience
  • The willingness and ability to collaborate with fellow teachers including interdisciplinary projects
  • Experience working from a DEI framework

Nice To Haves

  • Previous coaching experience would be considered an asset
