Associate - Tax (Real Estate)
About The Position
Our AmLaw 100 client is building out its LA tax bench for real estate and REIT work. The platform handles complex, high-value assets and cross-border structures, with national recognition across Real Estate and Tax by leading directories. This role involves advising on REIT structuring, acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, capital markets and financing matters tied to real estate assets. The associate will also draft and negotiate tax provisions in transaction documents and partner with Real Estate, Funds, Capital Markets and Corporate teams across offices on tax-driven deal architecture and execution.
Requirements
- Law school class years 2019–2022
- Solid tax foundation with hands-on exposure to real estate, including REITs
- Excellent research, writing and analytical skills; creative problem solver who can navigate novel issues
- LA location required
Responsibilities
