About The Position

The Casual/Seasonal Associate Tax Consultant assists Compeer Financial’s Tax and Accounting team with tax return preparation and administrative support. The temporary, part-time position runs from January 2027 to mid-April 2027 and is available at offices in Fond du Lac, Sun Prairie, Dodgeville, Prairie du Sac, or Lancaster, Wisconsin. The role works collaboratively with CPAs, enrolled agents, and other tax and accounting professionals to produce financial products and services for agricultural producers, while developing knowledge of farm taxation.

Requirements

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• High level of ethical and professional judgment.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Adobe applications, and tax and accounting software.
• Self-motivated and driven to learn and grow.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; Compeer Financial cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year of tax return preparation preferred.
• Knowledge of agriculture and agricultural operations is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Tax Consultants with entering client financial information for annual payroll filings, monthly accounting, and federal and state tax returns.
• Collaborate with CPAs, enrolled agents, and tax and accounting professionals to produce quality financial products and services for agricultural producers.
• Develop knowledge of farm taxation specific to the agricultural industry.
• Provide administrative support, including organizing, scanning, printing, and mailing documents.

Benefits

• Hourly pay of $19–$21 USD; the actual rate depends on factors including year in school, work experience, transferable skills, business needs, and market demands.
