Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older
  • Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable
  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline.
  • Generally 1-3 years of experience in a related field; certification is required in some areas
  • OR MS/MA and generally 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Certification is required in some areas.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience working in an end-user desktop support role or computer operations environment.
  • Experience with but not limited to OS, application support, system administration, job management/batch scheduling, error management/alert processing, log management review, job amends, job scheduling, research and diagnostics.
  • Ability to provide 24x7 on-call support.
  • Excellent problem solving & troubleshooting skills; self-motivator with strong written & verbal communication skills; team oriented.
  • Experience in a technical services/operations environment, providing customer service and managing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to provide 24x7 on-call support.
  • Experience with error management and alert processing.
  • Basic network knowledge with network monitoring, maintenance and oversight skills.
  • Experience with tools like UC4, RunMyJobs, etc. for job scheduling, management and maintenance of job schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Performs software installation, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Applies necessary software fixes.
  • Monitoring systems and performance.
  • Performs problem determination.
  • Isolates problems within the infrastructure.
  • Monitors our infrastructure, scheduled jobs, logs, and events.
  • Remediation if possible and escalation as required.
  • Escalation includes opening of Sev1 and Sev2 events and tracking the event, root cause and prevention for recurrence.
  • Provides opportunities to execute changes for RFCs if engineers need assistance, etc.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
