Associate Supplier Quality Analyst (Plymouth MN or Mesa AZ)
About The Position
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Associate Supplier Quality Analyst to provide on-site support at either the Mesa, Arizona, or Plymouth, Minnesota, facility. The position is part of the Quality Organization and focuses on collecting, analyzing, and reporting supplier performance and product quality data. The analyst supports Supplier Quality, Procurement, and Operations by converting data into insights that reduce risk, improve supplier capability, and advance continuous improvement across the supply base. The role maintains supplier quality data and reporting, analyzes performance measures and risks, and supports root-cause and corrective-action efforts. It also develops dashboards and automated reporting, communicates findings to stakeholders, and helps improve supplier scorecards, KPIs, and data processes.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in a data-focused role within manufacturing, aerospace/defense, automotive, electronics, or a similar industry; a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, Business, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience) may be considered in lieu of 4 years of experience.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with comfort working with large, complex datasets.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, pivot tables, lookups, and charts.
- Experience with at least one data visualization tool, such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
- Basic SQL skills for querying and joining data from relational databases.
- Familiarity with quality and supplier performance concepts, including PPM, FPY, COPQ, SCARs, audits, and RCCA.
- Ability to communicate insights and recommendations clearly, verbally and in writing.
- Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and documentation.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Supply Chain Analytics role.
- Exposure to aerospace/defense industry standards such as AS9100.
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis and automation.
- Experience with ERP/MRP and quality systems such as SAP, TIPQA, or Solumina.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies; Green Belt or similar is a plus.
- Experience developing and tracking supplier scorecards and KPIs.
Responsibilities
- Collect, cleanse, and maintain data from ERP/MRP systems, supplier scorecards, incoming inspection, nonconformance systems, and audits.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and standard reports on supplier performance, including on-time delivery, defect rates, escapes, and returns.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and traceability across systems.
- Analyze supplier quality metrics such as PPM, DPPM, yield, FPY, COPQ, and on-time delivery to identify trends, systemic issues, and emerging risks.
- Segment suppliers by performance, risk, and strategic importance to inform sourcing and supplier development decisions.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to Supplier Quality Engineers, Supply Chain, and Program teams.
- Lead the Vendor Corrective Action Board (VCAB) to review supplier SCARs.
- Support root-cause and corrective-action efforts with Pareto charts, trend analysis, control charts, and correlation studies.
- Track corrective-action effectiveness using before-and-after metrics.
- Design and maintain Power BI, Tableau, or Excel dashboards for visibility into supplier quality performance.
- Automate recurring data pulls, transformations, and reports using SQL, Python, or advanced Excel.
- Partner with IT and Data teams to improve data structures, definitions, and reporting tools.
- Provide routine and ad hoc analytical support to Supplier Quality, Procurement, Operations, and Program Management.
- Prepare presentations and visualizations that communicate complex data to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in supplier reviews, business reviews, and internal quality meetings as the data and metrics owner.
- Identify opportunities to streamline data collection and reporting processes.
- Support the development of supplier scorecards, KPIs, and standard work for performance monitoring.
- Contribute to initiatives to reduce defects, escapes, and cost of poor quality.
