As an Associate Supplier Manufacturing Engineer , you will collaborate with experienced professionals, including Design, Product, Methods, Quality, and Supplier Development Engineers, as well as Procurement Professionals, to help our external supply base execute our machined parts in a collaborative way that sets them up for success. This role combines hands-on engineering work with the ability to represent Moog through our supply chain in a collaborative and communicative fashion. You will support both new product development and mature production programs. Working within Supply Chain, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help drive efficiency and innovation in modern fabrication environments. This role does require up to 25% travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering -OR- Associates degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering plus four years’ relevant experience -OR- a high school diploma or equivalent with eight years’ relevant experience
  • Strong foundational knowledge of machining and inspection techniques of metallic parts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset
  • Strong communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in lean, manufacturing, supply chain, or other related area
  • Familiarity with ERP and MRP systems
  • Knowledge of GD&T, precision machining, and advanced materials

Responsibilities

  • Take guidance from the Strategic Sourcing Manager and Supplier Development Engineer on tactical initiatives with our external supply base for machined parts
  • Review supplier CNC programs, digital work instructions, inspection techniques, and tooling specifications for compliance with the Moog drawing and quality flow-downs
  • Collaborate with the Supplier Development Engineer to understand the specific capabilities of our machining suppliers
  • Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and drive improvements
  • Work closely with vendors to resolve technical concerns and improve external manufacturing operations
