About The Position

The Associate Category Manager (ACM), Construction, is responsible for developing and executing the strategic vision for the CAPEX Construction and Engineering services category and supporting sourcing initiatives across Pharmavite’s manufacturing network in California, Alabama, and Ohio, as well as the corporate office in West Hills, California. The position reports to the Manager, Corporate Strategic Sourcing (Indirect). This role partners closely with Engineering, Operations, Finance, EHS, Quality, and Project Management teams to enable safe, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of capital projects, including greenfield expansions, brownfield upgrades, and infrastructure investments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Preferred certifications: ASCM, ISM, PMP
  • 3 years of construction and/or engineering planning or project management experience, preferably with 2+ years of experience in strategic sourcing.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, CPG, pharmaceutical, or regulated environments preferred.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the Capital Construction and Engineering Services category, planning, and budgeting, including commercial models (lump sum, T&M, GMP, unit rate).
  • Ability to execute medium to high complexity RFx events and supplier negotiations.
  • Understanding capital project financial concepts, including CAPEX budgeting, ROI, NPV, cash flow, and total cost of ownership in proposal evaluations.
  • Experienced in negotiating Commercial and Legal agreements, specifically in Capital Construction and Engineering Services
  • Build credibility and alignment with cross-functional teams and suppliers to drive decisions and actions without direct authority.
  • Shows ability to develop and execute category strategies (with a special focus on Capital Construction and Engineering Services)
  • Possesses strong Project Management experience as well as stakeholder influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and sourcing analytics tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level summaries.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and fast-changing project environments.
  • Ability to travel out of state or internationally up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Manage over $9MM annually in Capital Construction and Engineering Services sourcing activities across manufacturing and corporate sites.
  • Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives, including RFx development, supplier evaluation, negotiation of commercial terms to optimise cost, quality, service, and innovation and contract execution.
  • Develop, present, and implement category strategies for Capital Construction and Engineering Services.
  • Provide execution support for overflow CAPEX sourcing initiatives across broader CAPEX categories (e.g., equipment adjacent services, installation, commissioning, equipment disposition) during periods of peak demand or resource constraints.
  • Conduct pricing, market, and supplier analysis to execute sourcing decisions aligned to capital project timelines, site priorities and total cost of ownership objectives.
  • Track savings, cost avoidance and value creation tied to capital sourcing initiatives.
  • Drive value through supplier relationship management, using QBRs, KPIs, and performance scorecards.
  • Establish and maintain operational and commercial controls to address supplier performance gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Support development and maintenance of preferred supplier model, including general contractors, engineering firms, speciality trades, and professional services providers in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify contract optimization, standardization, and renegotiation opportunities to drive value and reduce risk.
  • Participate in governance processes and ensure compliance with indirect procurement sourcing policies and governance standards.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Finance, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), and Quality to ensure alignment with capital plans and project execution needs.
