About The Position

The IT Category Manager will join the team responsible for development of category and sourcing strategies, sourcing execution, negotiations, and contracting activities across multiple categories within IT. This is a high-impact position, with responsibility to commercially manage and strategically source products and/or services within the Infrastructure subcategory of IT Spend. This position will provide consistent exposure to Best Buy executives, large strategic suppliers, and highly complex agreements. The right candidate will have an opportunity to make an immediate impact with noticeable results. The Best Buy Procurement organization is undergoing a significant transformation to become a strategic value generating business enabler. This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work in the office Monday through Thursday Best Buy’s headquarters and Fridays virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

Requirements

  • 4 or more years of experience in strategic sourcing or commensurate experience in related functions, including direct experience with supplier relationship development and contract negotiations
  • 2 or more years of experience collaborating with and influencing stakeholders and business partners

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or supply chain fields
  • 5 or more years of experience working within a matrix fortune 200 organization
  • 3 or more years of experience with retail / in-store technology
  • 3 or more years of experience with technology contract negotiations
  • 3 or more years of experience within infrastructure technology contract negotiations

Responsibilities

  • Development of category and sourcing strategies, sourcing execution, negotiations, and contracting activities across infrastructure related area of IT spend
  • Establishes and maintains strategic relationships with business stakeholders understanding and applying business objectives to category strategies
  • Optimize the total cost of ownership and increase the total value derived from our digital and technology investments for non-merchandise goods and services acquired by Best Buy
  • Interact with all levels of the organization, cross functionally partnering with and influencing business leaders across the Best Buy Enterprise
  • Leading negotiations of $0-$25 million technology contracts
  • Problem solve and search for answers using internal and external network/sources with ability to be agile when faced with setbacks and roadblocks
