About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for an Associate Spacecraft Operations Systems Engineer in Las Cruces, NM. This role ensures the integrity of the ground system and command path in support of the mission. The engineer will use MS-Windows or UNIX based computers for developing operational plans and analyzing data to support future contacts or anomaly resolution. Responsibilities include coordinating with management and peers to ensure high-quality operational products, such as procedures, tools, detailed event logging, and system configuration. The engineer will analyze technical data, verify and sustain specific systems configuration according to defined constraints and operational requirements. They will monitor system performance and control system elements by executing commands to change system configuration to achieve mission objectives. This position may also support future system testing and integration requirements. Selected candidates will receive specialized training in ground and SV configuration management to obtain necessary certifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts which include working days, nights, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Must successfully complete a certification program, which requires a combination of self-study and on-the-job (OJT) training.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • A final U.S. Top Secret/SCI Clearance Pre-Start is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with coding/scripting with various languages (MATLAB, Pearl, etc...)
  • Prior experience working with space vehicles
