About The Position

This role involves applying computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts to software development for target applications. The Associate, Software Engineer will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and to define operational performance requirements and overall system design. Responsibilities include supporting all phases of the software development life cycle, such as requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and testing of embedded software for real-time control of advanced tactical radio equipment. The role also entails developing software test procedures, programs, and documentation, utilizing modeling tools for data analysis and experimental testing, and participating in peer reviews to identify and repair defects. A variety of software languages and platforms are utilized, including C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, Ajax, Qt on Windows, Linux, mobile platforms, and embedded real-time operating systems (VxWorks, Linux, QNX, Integrity, Windows CE, and others for various processor designs). A specific focus on Digital Signal Processing is also included, requiring application of DSP, communication systems, and software engineering principles. This includes understanding time domain vs. frequency domain analysis, filter structures, and modulation/coding algorithms. The role operates in an agile environment.
