About The Position

This role involves analyzing the end-to-end client and investment management lifecycle, including client contracting and onboarding, portfolio management, trading, compliance, trade settlement, operational workflows, and reporting platforms, to design scalable and effective technology solutions. The position requires evaluating and incorporating domain-specific processes such as SecLending workflows, derivatives processing, and collateral management operations to mitigate counterparty exposure and ensure system accuracy, resiliency, and alignment with business requirements. The Associate, Software Engineer will support all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, application design, system development, testing, implementation, and production support. A key responsibility is developing comprehensive technical design documents detailing the proposed solution architecture, business logic, and upstream/downstream system dependencies. The role also involves leveraging and continuously learning in-house technologies and frameworks to build, scale, and optimize enterprise-grade applications across the investment and post-trade ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience as a Software Developer or in a closely related role.
  • Three (3) years of experience with strong proficiency in Object-oriented programming in Java, multithreading, concurrency, Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Data JPA), Spring Security, and OAuth2.
  • Three (3) years of hands-on experience in databases such as MySQL, Oracle, JDBC, and Hibernate for data persistence.
  • Three (3) years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices within a distributed backend architecture.
  • Three (3) years of experience with unit testing frameworks including JUnit and Mockito.
  • Three (3) years of experience working with UNIX and Linux environments.
  • Three (3) years of experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum), including experience working in Agile teams and contributing to continuous delivery processes.
  • Two (2) years of experience with UI technologies such as HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Two (2) years of experience with frameworks like Angular and React for developing user interfaces in web applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with event-driven architectures, messaging systems, or integration tools such as Kafka, MQ, or cloud-native streaming platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, build tools (Maven/Gradle), and version control systems like Git.
  • Understanding of microservice design patterns, service discovery, load balancing, and distributed tracing.
  • Exposure to cloud computing platforms (Azure), containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of performance tuning and debugging techniques for distributed, high throughput systems.
  • Experience developing scalable, fault-tolerant, and enterprise-grade backend services.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK stack).
