Associate Software Development Engineer (Remote US)
About The Position
Revvity is seeking a talented Associate Backend Software Engineer with expertise in AI, Java, Vert.x, and AWS to join their Signals Software team. This role will focus on the back-end design and development of a next-generation cloud notebook application, aimed at assisting scientists, researchers, and clinicians in solving health challenges. The engineer will be responsible for translating marketing requirements into a user-friendly and elegant application for the scientific community. This is an opportunity to join an international team and contribute to high-impact, customer-focused features.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of professional work experience
- 1 year of Java programming skills
- 1-3 years' experience with Reactive Programming (Vert.x)
- 1 year building Web Services and RESTful APIs
- 1 year experience using AI-powered developer tools and productivity suites on a daily basis, such as GitHub Copilot, Claude (Anthropic), ChatGPT, or similar AI assistant
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's Degree is preferred
- Thorough understanding of and experience with structured software development methodologies including design, development, and testing in an Agile environment
- Must have strong teamwork orientation and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teams
- Excellent work ethic and strong sense of ownership of end result
- Entrepreneurial minded, creative problem solver, and innovative thinker
- Exposure to CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub)
- Experience working with JDBC in a transactional application (using any RDBMS, but preferably PostgreSQL)
- An awareness of performance implications of different queries and inserts/updates
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with fellow team members on priorities, specifications, and feature implementation
- Craft well-documented, clean, and tested code
- Create secure, performant interfaces and services
- Build and maintain new, high-impact functionality into Signals Notebook
