About The Position

The System Offices is one of several system members within the Texas A&M University System representing one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation, with a network of 12 universities, a comprehensive health science center, nine state agencies, and the RELLIS Campus. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • No experience required.
  • Knowledge of web site development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server or other relational databases.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented development (e.g. C#, ASP.NET or PHP) applied in a web environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with web site development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Experience with SQL Server or other relational databases.
  • Experience with object-oriented development (e.g. C#, ASP.NET or PHP) applied in a web environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve on software development teams to create and support web-based applications.
  • Perform entry software development support functions.
  • Assist clients and co-workers to define application requirements.
  • Identify programming and output needs.
  • Assist in and verify preliminary design and output, and recommend technical and procedural design for new or revised applications including flow charts, system specifications, programming guidelines, and code review.
  • Assist in reviewing, modifying, and writing program code and job control language.
  • Assist in writing documentation of system procedures and guidelines for application users as well as for programs and program modifications.
  • Assist with testing of complex programs, program modifications, or applications.
  • Answer questions and provide technical assistance and training to application users.
  • Resolve problems by reviewing and analyzing software documentation and production outputs to identify causes, solutions, and make appropriate referrals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
