About The Position

This role involves coordinating and sorting orders, preparing and consolidating door stacks to maximize cubic footage on trucks according to customer and quality specifications, and routing doors to appropriate destinations. The associate will work with little supervision, requiring excellent memory recall, strong planning and organizational skills, and a high attention to detail. The position also involves communicating with upstream and downstream channels to fulfill shipping needs and ensure loads are completed.

Requirements

  • Forklift operating skills to load/unload, lift, move, place, stack raw materials and doors.
  • Ability to navigate throughout the plant, including populated and small areas.
  • Perform safety procedures.
  • Excellent memory recall.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and retain large amounts of data.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Read/interpret schedules.
  • Read tape measure 1/16".
  • Work with a sense of urgency.
  • Forklift knowledge and safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of order tracking process and documents.
  • Knowledge of door staging locations and process for stack consolidation.
  • Knowledge of customer specs, proper stacking procedures, how to protect doors, and quality specs.
  • Ability to read/interpret tickets/schedules.
  • Knowledge of door types/cores/species and acceptable stacking quantities.
  • Ability to read a tape measure up to 1/16".
  • Knowledge of correct pallet size with doors.
  • Knowledge of customer specific stacking/packing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and sort orders to segregate by PO, customer, and customer locations.
  • Stage door locations and process for consolidation.
  • Stack/down-stack pallets of doors to customer shipping quantity specifications.
  • Verify doors and Jetta mark/species match the tickets.
  • Inspect paint edge quality.
  • Direct lift drivers on where to stage pallets of doors.
  • Combine/build/pyramid door stacks for each customer using SOP procedures, using culled doors/cardboard/runners between pallets to protect doors.
  • Send doors to repair that fail to meet quality specs.
  • Use a lift truck to retrieve and stage own material.
  • Communicate with upstream/downstream channels for doors shipping needs to complete loads.
  • Prepare and consolidate door stacks to maximize cubic footage on truck and according to customer specs, quality specs, and routes doors to appropriate destinations.
