About The Position

Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC is seeking an Associate, Settlements in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role involves performing duties in derivative operations with a specialized focus on Foreign Exchange Products (FX), including swaps, forwards, cash-settled forwards, options, exotic trades, and structured trades. The position requires monitoring trade settlement and confirmation procedures, risk management, and control processes. Key responsibilities include monitoring trade bookings, confirming settlements and trade netting agreements, identifying and escalating discrepancies, and providing client services. The role also involves generating management reporting with investigation and commentary for fails to pay, fails to receive, and balance breaks. Additionally, the Associate will identify process flaws and propose solutions to improve efficiency, support the team manager in reducing costs and enabling scale, and design and deliver solutions to enhance automation, eliminate exceptions, and promote data-driven decision-making. Ensuring all trade economics and discrepancies are investigated and resolved, while managing client expectations and potential fail exposure, is crucial. The role also involves identifying process and controls improvements by leveraging evolving tools to build scalability without introducing new risks, and monitoring KPIs/KRIs to ensure timely execution of daily tasks and escalation of aged/high value/high risk client exceptions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, or related quantitative field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role.
  • Three (3) years of experience with foreign exchange, booking validation, and conflict settlement structure.
  • Three (3) years of experience with antifraud, pre-settlement and post-settlement analysis.
  • Three (3) years of experience with balance breaks and investigations.
  • Three (3) years of experience using FX industry platforms including FXALL, FINASTRA, GTSS, or Bloomberg.
  • Three (3) years of experience with client facing interaction and issue management supporting sales and trading desks.
  • Three (3) years of experience with Foreign Exchange (FX) Derivatives including Spot, Forwards, NDFs and Options.
  • Three (3) years of experience monitoring time-sensitive intraday requests and escalations.
  • Three (3) years of experience with Microsoft Office & other data tools for data analysis for Client Strategies & Optimization.
