This role involves applying computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts to software development for target applications. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and to define operational performance requirements and overall system design. Responsibilities include supporting all phases of the software development life cycle, such as requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and testing of embedded software for real-time control of advanced tactical radio equipment. The role also includes developing software test procedures, programs, and documentation, utilizing modeling tools for data establishment and experimental testing, and participating in peer reviews to identify and repair defects. A variety of software languages and platforms will be utilized, including C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, Ajax, Qt on Windows, Linux, mobile platforms, and embedded real-time operating systems like VxWorks, Linux, QNX, Integrity, Windows CE, and others for various processor designs. Additionally, the role requires applying digital signal processing (DSP), communication systems, and software engineering concepts to software development, with an understanding of time domain vs. frequency domain analysis, filter structures, and modulation/coding algorithms. The work will be performed in an agile environment.
