About The Position

Q² Solutions, IQVIA’s laboratory business, is seeking an Associate Scientist to join its Sample Preparation group in Ithaca, New York. The role performs routine and specialized analysis and laboratory testing to gather critical data for drug development and clinical trials research. Work is conducted according to standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines, with guidance from senior staff where specified. The Associate Scientist also contributes to quality, safety, training, and operational excellence activities and collaborates with stakeholders on cross-functional projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology.
• Basic knowledge of the assigned technical area, systems, and procedures, obtained through prior work experience.
• Proficiency in relevant laboratory techniques and knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures.
• Experience working with automation or specialized laboratory equipment.
• Proficiency in laboratory safety protocols, including handling hazardous chemicals.
• Experience with routine laboratory calculations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document analytical procedures in accordance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
• Analyze data to ensure procedures and results meet established expectations and standards.
• Identify unusual results and escalate them to senior laboratory personnel.
• Process and upload data analysis results into the LIMS system with guidance from senior staff.
• Assist with quality control investigations, address deviations, and implement resolutions.
• Prepare reagents and solutions and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Support the training and development of new staff and update laboratory procedures.
• Contribute to cross-functional projects and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Engage in continuing education and support safety, quality, and operational excellence initiatives.
