About The Position

The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. is looking for the newest member of the Technical Products Research (TPR) team to help continue to be obsessed with consumers to reimagine beauty and create breakthrough technical product solutions for generations to come. TPR is a sub-function within Research and Innovation (R&I) that focuses on early upstream consumer understanding, product benchmarking, and guiding the development of platform technology and product solutions. The role is to be the voice of the consumer in R&I’s upstream developments, generating and integrating consumer, technical and competitive landscape knowledge to guide the technical innovation teams on opportunities & implications of technical choices, and ensure holistic technical product design (formula + packaging + idea). As a member of the TPR team, you will be instrumental in providing key information and guidance to the company to deliver against this vision. The Associate Scientist/Engineer within the TPR group in Global R&I is responsible for helping to deliver new and improved products through in-depth consumer understanding - uncovering & translating consumer beliefs, needs & desires into critical product design features and technologies, benefits, and experiential cues. This includes defining targets & acceptable ranges for product performance via consumer and technical research and understanding. They will work across sub-categories on platform & upstream research projects, working with our Advanced Technologies group, Formulation team, and Packaging & Processing innovation partners. This role is responsible for being the voice of the consumer to help guide & inform the technology innovation teams on opportunities & implications of technical choices.
