Associate Scientist - Technical Products Research
About The Position
The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. is a global leader in beauty products, seeking a new member for the Technical Products Research (TPR) team. This role focuses on understanding consumer needs and creating innovative technical product solutions. The TPR team is part of Research and Innovation (R&I) and concentrates on early upstream consumer understanding, product benchmarking, and guiding the development of platform technologies. The team acts as the consumer's voice within R&I, integrating consumer, technical, and competitive landscape knowledge to advise technical innovation teams on the implications of technical choices and ensure holistic technical product design (formula + packaging + idea). The Associate Scientist/Engineer will be responsible for uncovering and translating consumer beliefs, needs, and desires into critical product design features, technologies, benefits, and experiential cues. This involves defining targets and acceptable ranges for product performance through consumer and technical research. The role will collaborate across sub-categories on platform and upstream research projects with Advanced Technologies, Formulation, and Packaging & Processing innovation partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering or Science
Responsibilities
- Help deliver new and improved products through in-depth consumer understanding.
- Uncover and translate consumer beliefs, needs & desires into critical product design features and technologies, benefits, and experiential cues.
- Define targets & acceptable ranges for product performance via consumer and technical research and understanding.
- Work across sub-categories on platform & upstream research projects.
- Work with Advanced Technologies group, Formulation team, and Packaging & Processing innovation partners.
- Be the voice of the consumer to help guide & inform the technology innovation teams on opportunities & implications of technical choices.
