Associate Scientist, Delivery Sciences

IntelliaCambridge, MA

About The Position

Our mission is to develop curative genome editing treatments that can positively transform the lives of people living with severe and life-threatening diseases. Beyond our science, we live our four core values: One, Explore, Disrupt, Deliver and feel strongly that you can achieve more at Intellia. We have a single-minded determination to excel and succeed together. We believe in the power of curiosity and pushing boundaries. We welcome challenging thoughts and imagination to develop innovative solutions. And we know that patients are counting on us to make the promise a reality, so we must maintain high standards and get it done. We want all of our people to go beyond what is possible. We aren’t constrained by typical end rails, and we aren’t out to just “treat” people. We’re all in this for something more. We’re driven to cure and motivated for change. Just imagine the possibilities of what we can do together. Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Scientist in Lipid Nanoparticle (LNP) Discovery to lead efforts in the production, scale-up and characterization of next generation lipid-based delivery systems for nucleic acid therapeutics. The successful candidate will play a key scientific role in advancing our delivery platform, working at the interface of formulation science and biology to advance our pipeline.

Requirements

  • Extensive hands-on experience with LNP scale-up, process development and analytical techniques is a plus
  • Experience with nanoparticle characterization techniques (e.g., DLS, zeta potential, fluorescence-based assays such as Ribogreen, chromatography)
  • Organized, detailed oriented, and self-starter who continuously seeks to improve existing laboratory methods and processes.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of lipid chemistry, ionizable lipid design, or bioconjugation techniques.
  • Experience supporting in vivo studies or translating formulations from research to preclinical scale
  • Expertise in TFF and buffer exchange.
  • Data analysis and communication.
  • Troubleshooting and process improvement.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with microfluidic mixing and scale-up approaches (e.g., TFF, ultrafiltration)
