About The Position

HP Tuners LLC is seeking a motivated Associate Sales Manager to join their high-performing sales team. This role will support the Sales Manager in driving revenue growth within the emerging import sales channel. Responsibilities include training customers on products, developing customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and executing solution-based sales strategies in collaboration with technical and sales leadership. The ideal candidate will have a customer-centric mentality, strong work ethic, a passion to win, and a deep understanding of vehicle tuning and the automotive aftermarket. They should be able to create urgency with customers and prospects while acting as a trusted advisor. This position reports to the Sales Manager - Import Channel and requires onsite work in Buffalo Grove (4 days in office, 1 day remote) when not traveling. Relocation assistance is available.

Requirements

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in sales, technical support, or a customer facing technical role; automotive aftermarket and/or tuning experience strongly preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Deep understanding of vehicle tuning and the automotive aftermarket.
  • Knowledge of the latest product, market, competitive and industry trends.
  • Expert level Customer Service and listening skills.
  • Self-starter with energy and motivation to nurture customers and close sales.

  • Keen interest in emerging automotive technologies and/or automotive aftermarket knowledge, specifically with import brands.
  • Ability to document notes thoroughly for effective follow up with prospects and customers.
  • Ability to identify and resolve customer concerns quickly.
  • An outgoing personality who thrives in new and unfamiliar situations.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Sales, business development and/or client engagement skills at the owner/operator level.
  • Proficiency with mobile apps, PC, Microsoft Office suite, and other common sales tools.
  • Valid permanent driver’s license from state of residence and a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel domestically when required (and applicable).
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills and detail oriented.
  • Be highly motivated to work in an established, yet entrepreneurial and dynamic environment.
  • Speaking a second language will be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead estimation project levels of effort and resource requirements by using standard estimating techniques and tools and by working with appropriate staff to understand scope of effort.
  • Maintain and expand existing customer network within assigned sales channel.
  • Prospect, identify needs, provide industry insight, and convert sales leads into new business.
  • Communicate with sales ops to ensure customer satisfaction throughout order life cycle.
  • Track sales trends and results and develop action plans to achieve targets.
  • Achieve month and year targets being able to explain positive and negative sales trends.
  • Submit weekly activity reports and prepare monthly and quarterly channel reports.
  • Monitor and enforce company discount policies.
  • Monitor competition, gather marketplace information on pricing, products, availability, etc.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating concerns, developing solutions, and making recommendations to upper management when trends are identified.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of company product portfolio and competing products.
  • Create enthusiasm among prospects by displaying the value in HP Tuners products.
  • Attend and work assigned trade shows, races, and other promotional events.
  • Understand customer workflows (tuning, diagnostics, calibrations) to position solutions accordingly.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Partner with technical sales team and engineering to support solution-based selling.
  • Support product feedback loops based on customer insights.
  • Consistently meet or exceed assigned revenue / customer targets within assigned sales channel.
