About The Position

FiveBy is seeking an Associate Risk Intelligence Analyst with advanced fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese to join their team. This role is crucial for supporting trade compliance through research and analytical support for due diligence and sanctions activities. The ideal candidate is a curious, resourceful, self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, detail-oriented, and can work autonomously and collaboratively with a high level of professionalism. This is a remote role, potentially located anywhere in the US, but significant overlap with Pacific time zone core hours may be required.

Requirements

• Advanced fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in a research/analytics field pertaining to social and political sciences or foreign policy
• Knowledgeable of research best practices and methodologies
• Experience using research and analysis to support decision-making processes
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience successfully collaborating with others, especially across functions
• Able to work autonomously and produce high-quality work with minimal direction
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Ability and willingness to work in a remote environment
• Must be authorized to work in the US without requiring employer sponsorship

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree pertaining to international studies, political science or foreign policy
• Experience working on a remote team
• Technically savvy, comfortable learning new tools, and confident using AI to support research, analysis, and sanctions investigations

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze potential sanctions hits while maintaining compliance requirements
• Use problem-solving and analytical skills to identify potential business partners and customers
• Make decisions in a timely manner despite incomplete or ambiguous information
• Maintain the confidentiality of all information obtained during the research process
• Maintain and update databases
• Monitor global sanctions and economic news
• Utilize open-source research tools
