About The Position

The Associate Researcher is an entry laboratory research position, responsible for conduct of routine and standardized experiments using techniques specific to the assigned research project under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or a senior researcher. This individual assists in the interpretation of research outcomes and may be responsible for lab and clerical support. S/he analyzes and assists in interpreting research outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in science or related field preferred, or combination of relevant research experience and education
  • 0-2 years of research/laboratory experience
  • Comfortable working with non-human primates in a research setting

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of laboratory experience working with animal tissue or similar preferred
  • Prior experience working with animals in a laboratory, research, or clinical environment preferred
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or MATLAB preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct behavioral training and cognitive testing of non-human primates in support of neuroscience research studies.
  • Collect functional MRI (fMRI) and neurophysiology data from non-human primates in collaboration with laboratory team members.
  • Perform data analysis and contribute to the interpretation of experimental findings for ongoing research projects.
  • Collaborate with students, postdoctoral fellows, and instructors to prepare scientific manuscripts, presentations, and publications.
  • Support daily laboratory operations through administrative responsibilities, including ordering supplies, coordinating laboratory safety activities, and serving as a liaison between the laboratory and veterinary staff.
  • Performs other related duties.
