About The Position

The Associate Research Scientist will work in a fully grant-funded position advancing the goals and deliverables of the Gyori Lab for Computational Biomedicine’s funded projects. Within defined project objectives and timelines, the scientist will develop and implement computational methods and open-source scientific software related to knowledge-grounded AI, systems modeling, natural language processing, and data harmonization. The role also involves building domain-relevant applications to benchmark and demonstrate these methods, contributing to publications and presentations, and guiding graduate students and other junior team members. The scope and continuation of the position are tied to the objectives and duration of the associated grants. The Gyori Lab at Northeastern University develops systems that combine artificial intelligence with human expertise to accelerate scientific discovery. Its work includes knowledge-grounded AI, text mining and knowledge assembly, mathematical and systems modeling, and causal analysis, with results deployed as open-source software and services. The position is based in Boston, Massachusetts, and reports to Benjamin Gyori, Associate Professor.
